The wonderful family featured in the beginning moments of Episode 11 created this video while attending Free Comic Book Day. Enjoy!
Hot off of our appearance at the Portsmouth Comic Book show, Gravityland is bringing the show to Free Comic Book Day! Tomorrow, Saturday May 3rd, we will be setting up at Jet Pack Comics in Rochester, NH for what aims to be the biggest comic book event of the year! Stop by for our live broadcast!
UPDATE: What an amazing event! Here is a picture from the last moments before the live broadcast was cut off by the stormtroopers!
A staple of nearly every Gravityland shoot is the presence of teenage filmmaker Jake Frost, our official Gravityland intern. Jake is a creative mind always willing to lend a hand to help produce our weekly web series. In addition to his valuable work behind the camera, he can even be seen acting in several episodes as a silent yet thoughtful comic book shop browser. We recently caught up with Jake to ask him about his work on the series.

GRAVITYLAND: What did you expect when you first got involved in Gravityland?
JAKE: Well, I had known John for a little bit before, but never actually worked with him. All I really knew was that he was really excited to start working on it, so it got me interested too. I asked about the plot several times, but I could never really piece together what was happening. In fact every episode is still a surprise to this day. This weekend at the Portsmouth Comic Book Show Phil Kliger and Chuck Galle posed for photo. Another photographer caught their pose and put them on the cover of the Portsmouth Herald!
UPDATE: Phil was recording with his head-cam while the two photos were taken. You can see the surreal moment happen during an equally surreal movie by Phil Kliger. Click the image below to view his latest behind the scenes masterpiece:

This is a big weekend for Gravityland. We are going on tour! Meet up with series creator John Herman Friday and Saturday at Podcamp NYC, an “unconference” focused on educating participants on how to use, implement and share any/all new media tools including, podcasts, videocasts, blogs, Second Life, Facebook, and YouTube. Next John will appear at The Portsmouth Comic Book Show on Sunday, April 27th! Not only will he be spreading the word about Gravityland, but he will be filming for an upcoming episode. Stop by and ask how you can be a part of the series!

As promised, here are the alternative photographs of The Woman in the Photograph. This pic was taken before we made the final decision on which prop to use. We are starting to get good suggestions for the Name “The Woman in the Photograph” Challenge. Keep them coming! We do not want to name the character Marshmallow Snugglebot, but you may force our hand!
Name a Gravityland character! Since episode 1, “The Woman in the Photograph” has been an enigma. A lot of posters have gone up with her face, but who is she? When her name was finally revealed in episode 5, it was bleeped out! We bleeped it again in episode 8. We are now turning to the viewers to name her. This is another chance to imprint your own creativity onto the series. In the comment section, name the character. Give us a strong reason why your name is the best choice. Was it your grandmothers name? Is it a literary reference? Whatever the reason, your goal is to convince us that the name is perfect for the character. The best name will be revealed in a future episode, and we promise not to bleep it out again!
Check back tomorrow for a look at how the “photo” in question was selected!

The latest edition to Gravityland LIVE went amazingly well. We chatted about the show, the rise of New Media, criticism, dreams, and so much more. Thank you to all the people that spent the evening interacting with us. We broadcast for a half hour longer than we planned because we were having so much fun!
Gravityland’s second live event is TONIGHT at 7 PM! Gravityland creator John Herman and his guests will take questions through a chat room and respond through live video at Mogulus.com/Gravityland.
And here’s a quick video Phil made with his head-cam during the first live broadcast:
